I'm trying to get the small inner cylinder on a tok 34 visiguage to come clean and am running out of ideas!
It has some light hazy spots on the outer portion of the cylinder and I've tried muriatic acid and tried rubbing it with mothers metal polish and yet these spots persist. My actions have cleaned it up a lot but there are just some spots that seem very stubborn.
Anyone have any suggestions for me??

I used lacquer thinner on mine and it did the trick. It might be worth a shot. I let ot set in a it for a little while to break it loose then wiped it down with moderate force. I am no expert but it worked for me.
Try baking soda and white vinegar. Add vinegar to the baking soda until it's a paste (not quite liquid). Lightly rub it on the glass, then let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Then rub it into the glass with some elbow grease, then wipe clean with damp cloth.
May have to try a few times. I've had some good luck with it before, but I haven't run into anything too tough yet. Not sure if it'll be strong enough or not, might be worth a shot. I was going to try the Mr. clean magic erasers one day too but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I use wizards rubbing compound, has a lot of grit, has worked for me.

Try using Mequire's plastic polish. I have used it to remove scratches from plastic dash parts.It is very fine polishing compound.Might work for you?.?
I've used easy off oven cleaner with 0000 steel wool and it worked great. But wear gloves it will burn your hands.
IF all above fails, soak it in Paint Stripper, then use 0000 steel wool.
Fine steel wool and Dawn detergent or SOS pad. Works every time.

Steel wool works good but it will leave fine scratch lines.
I use brass wool, works good on porcelain also. You can get it from marine supply stores, I order it from McMaster Carr.
