Hi all,
I know this might upset some people on this site, but I wanted to show the Associated sign I made for our Early West Jordan gas station display. Anyone who knows these sign can see it is a reproduction. There will only be the one sign and it will be label facsimile of an original sign. I did the graphics in Photoshop and had our local sign company make it for me on aluminum. I believe that this one sign will not devalue anyone's original sign. If you want me to have original items on display. We do take tax deductible donations. I do appreciate all the help I have been given over the last few years, there are some great people here. I also bought a reproduction Veedol sign 25.5 off of Ebay, I furnished a metal stand from an old fan and our blacksmith fabricated the ring. I painted it a few weeks ago and put it back together today. I will post a photo of the finished product when I get a chance.
Thanks

One more thing, Sinclair Oil Company here in Salt Lake City, donated us a globe like below but it is a white glass globe body with the two lenses.

Hello, here is a update on the West Jordan Historical Museum's Early Gas Stations of West Jordan. Attached is the conceptual idea of what I wanted for the main display of our early Associated Flying A/Veedol station. As of this moment, I have the reproduction Associated sign, The Veedol curb sign reproduction, I have the reproduction Flying A flange sign, all the Utah license plates are real and in place. I have the reproduction Veedol clock, I have the Flying A Globe body and lenses, I have one of the Ethyl Associated lenses and the globe body, I have all the photos of the gas station as pictured. I have the case with all the smalls completed (most of the buttons are reproductions) and in place. I have the Veedol 30 cent reproduction sign, and a reproduction of the air and water sign. I should have the White gold decal by the end of the summer. I have the Veedol outboard motor oil can. The Wayne 615 is painted in Associated colors, I have the decals and everything to go on it. Just need a hose. I have a Flying A gas sign, which I hope to convert to a neon sign in the near future. I have a Flying A reproduction ad glass that is in a light box so it can be seen with light. I have the lubster and greaser pump I just need the decal for the lubster, I need to repaint and get a decal for the grease pump, I have a can that I will paint in Veedol colors and get a decal. I have the greasy rag container as shown, Then I have a reproduction oil can rack and have a Veedol decal to go on it like shown. That is where I am at the moment. All the other gas stations, Chevron, Covey, Sinclair, Conoco, Frontier, Husky, Vico/Pep88, Utoco, Amoco, American will be on the other walls. I do have two reproduction Covey globes, a Conoco ethyl globe, a HC Sinclair globe which are reproductions. Before everything is in place, I am building a wooden island for all that stuff on the ground to sit on. I do need to include a photo of the Associated which became a Sinclair 1954-1960. Well that should bring me up to date. I can hardly wait till we open the exhibit. Please email me with any questions, ideas, donations etc.
Thanks.

Here is sort of a pictorial wish list of items that I want to add to the whole display. I am sure that a few things here on are everyone's wish list.

all of those items seem readily available, you don't get out looking around too much??

Rather than harp at you for not getting around too much i will donate a Camel patch kit if you do not mind the round style of can.give me your address and i will ship it to you! shocked

I do get out once in awhile to the antique stores in my area. I have never run across any of those items that I posted. I have tried getting some on Ebay, but always lose out to a higher bidder. Now there are 4 oil cans that I will have to reproduce the best way I can since Dick passed away. Vico, both types, Frontier and Husky.

I recently posted this pictorial wish list for items needed to display in our early West Jordan Gas Station display. As to date, two items have been donated to the museum by two members of this page. Thanks to Smoketree for the timing gun he donated and to Hawkike for the Camel tube repair kit. It is much appreciated and I thought it should be noted here of their help. Below are some items I am still looking for, any help appreciated.
Thanks for all your help.
