Hi All, I am looking for one of the large union 76 balls that rotated and where lighted. It doesn't have to rotate but does need to be the lighted type. The larger the better. If you have seen one or have one for sale please let me know. I am willing to travel to pick it up. Thanks Rod
Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has seen one of the large lighted union 76 signs that used to be on a pole outside of the gas station. I would love to locate one, so if anyone has seen one sitting in a storage or scrap area please let me know where. Thanks for any and all input. Rod
i'm also on the hunt for the 8' lighted, rotating ball.
the original from the 60s n 70s was made of clear acrylic? or polycarbonate? and painted on the inside.
two halves were plastic welded together, and you can "knock" on it.
the 90s ?? one is like a thin coated fabric.
it's a little darker orangish red, and it dimples easy when you touch it.
both of those light up and turn.
i think there's a 6' version that was made as well.
i recently found several of them, and the guy wants 1500 apiece.
older plastic one was terribly faded on top.
two newer style fabric ones looked pretty good.
seems high to me.
they're missing the original bottom mounting system, and are sitting on a flat steel plate.
to complete them, i would still need the bottom escutcheon?, and whatever mounts it to a pole.
...as well as a pole.
anyone have mounting parts, escutcheons, or know of complete globes in the central region for Rod, or the northwest for myself?
Hi, I have a 76 ball that I think is internally lite. Can send pics if interested.
