Well I say "Greasy Dick" but I think it is really "Gry-C-Dyke".......honestly I bought a cooler just because I thought it was funny then found this sign.

It really is "greasydick" as it was a very popular beer in Quincy, IL, which is about 30 minutes south of me. There was "Dick Bros." beer and "Griesedieck" beer that made quincy a thriving brewery town.

Years ago I was a beercan collector. We were visiting St Louis with a friend of my Wife. I think we saw a Griesedieck sign or something. My mother asked me "if I had a Griesedieck". I knew she meant a beercan. My wife's friend did not. Got a big laugh and I think about it everytime I see the name.

For a german name, ie is pronounced E while ei is pronounced I and I think the e in the middle would be pronounced ah

You are close Nicole. When two vowels are together in this case they are, you pronounce the second vowel. But, not the single vowel.
( Grease-e-dick) is the correct pronunciation. It is a German thing, and, correct English.
