It's about the size of a trash can lid measuring 19 inches across. The clock itself does not work and is made of very heave gauge metal. The seller wants $175 firm and claims it is from the late 1940s. What do you think this is worth? Is the age estimate correct?

I was hoping someone here who collects Cities stuff would have info on this clock. I've looked everywhere and can't find another one like it. There is zero doubt that this is an original piece so I guess I'm going to have to keep searching for info. For the asking price, my gut told me that this was well worth it especially given that it's in nice shape overall and it's a large clock. I did purchase it.

Any best guesses or thoughts are welcome.

Good Buy! Its definitely an original clock and you rarely see one of these in nice shape. With no glass face for protection, the clock face was exposed to the every day elements that often took a toll on the graphics and the face itself. I have one of the best condition ones that I have ever seen. In 15 years of collecting, I have only seen about 6, so its a fairly rare piece. The clock motor is fairly common and you should be able to get it repaired by anyone that works on old clocks.

Has the second hand on yours been replaced? Mine has a crescent moon second hand that appears to be original to my clock.

Thank you for showing me that there are others out there. I feel better now.

Any guess on what this is worth? I'm not selling it but I'm curious none the less.

I have one as well, neat clocks. $175 is a steal! I paid at least triple that for mine

Thank you for all the responses. I hope that I can save the internals of the current clock mechanism but if not, I will just grab a 30 dollar replacement unit off Ebay and get it going again. Of course I will save the original and will not do anything if it requires permanent alteration of the original parts.
