Hey everyone i'm new to this site so hopefully my pictures show up. I picked up the "goodyear service station 'good wear'" and the "red crown gasoline sign up yesterday at an auction. I know that they are not in the best shape at all but I was wondering what they are approx worth. and the sohio gasoline sign's worth?, which i found in one of our barns.

Each sign goes for a different price in each part of the country.

That is because of availability, how much the sign is desired, and how much the buyer is willing to pay.

Since you live in Ohio, you have gas shows near you. That in my eyes makes the availability go WAY up. Which means prices go down due to you having a lot of signs to pick from.

I live in California, so the availability is extremely high. I just shop around until I find the price I am willing to pay. That can take time, and I am willing to wait.

However, there is always a sucker who will pay way over the value of stuff too.

I personally would not pay over $100 for any of the goodyear, but that is me.

You will see all kinds of prices quoted on here.

Good Luck
Goodyear I'd say is between $100-125, red crown probably $65 or less. Sohio not sure.
Goodyear $150-175 avg too rough to get much beyond 400-600 in good shape
Red Crown 225-275 avg since the shine is gone 500-650 in good shape
Sohio 600+ is pretty rare and easily passes 1K in good shape

i picked up the texaco sign yesterday and surprisingly found the lone star concrete sign up in our hayloft, which i have walked by a million times. worth? i'm a new collector and like to see how i'm doing. also cleaned the sohio sign up some today. bar keeper works great.

I've seen the Texaco sell for around $275-325 in that shape.
Lone Star is probably higher in Texas... around here I think $275-350

Thanks for all of the input!
I picked up a sohio ethyl sign like yours without the high test on top in better condition for 200 in an antique store in southern Ohio, I would sell that baby in a minute for 600 $ in above reply. Just my 2 cents
A lot of signs were made in Ohio in Cochocton County, Beach used to be there. Your Texaco is an unfinished sign, it never had the black porcelain put on it from the factory. I have also seen them with just the white and red. I think black was normally the last color put on the Texacos, if something was wrong with it during the manufacture process they didnt finish them. Story around here is they would sell the seconds and defects to the locals for 10 cents a sign to be used as scrap metal, a lot were used to patch holes in barns and farm buildings.

Found this sign today at my families old farm, it was in the hayloft on the floor serving as a board, the boards around it were all rotted out because of the hole in the ceiling. fun find for me, not in the best shape but i'm not picky.
Here's a fresh out of the barn picture and after cleaning up. bad lighting on the cleaned up picture.

Wish, I had a hayloft that kept on giving me porcelain signs.
