Looks like the Pate Swap Meet is scheduled for 4/30 thru 5/3/15. Last time I attended was back in 2001, but I'm back in Texas now and live about 30 minutes from the speedway, so will be attending again. Was wondering who else planned to be there selling or buying? The website says gates open at 7am on Thursday.....is that when vendors first start setting up or do they set up Wednesday?
Thanks, Richard
I will be there selling and probably buying some things. I am bringing pumps (Fry 10, Wayne 861 rustoration, Narrow Wayne 60 rustoration, Tokheim 325, gas cart, wayne 60 widebody unrestored) Lubester carts (American double lubester cart, Bennett lubester cart with original porcelain signs), Sinclair 48" HC sign with ring, national station lighter, fry 10 cylinder, couple racks of oil bottles and some other stuff
I think the majority of the vendors will be set up by Friday morning, but not all set up on Thursday. If you don't want to walk for hours, they have electric scooters to rent. I will be there all day on Saturday. It is a massive event. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes or money to rent a scooter.
Joe
electric scooters? Wow...
Scooters get Rented Fast, even tho there's probably a couple hundred or maybe more!!
I'm going on Wednesday to pick and will be set up on Thursday-Saturday. You can either walk it or rent their scooters. No mini bikes, lawn mowers, golf carts or personal scooters are allowed. Not sure about bicycles. Only after 5 p.m. can you use these types of transportation.
Only feet and the rental scooters are permitted means of transportation.
Looking forward to it. Hope to see some oldgasers there.
Mr. Komatinsky, could I get some details on the Fry 10 gallon you plan to bring to Pate? I am looking for an unrestored Fry 10 gallon. Send PM or respond here. Thanks
Joe
Joe, give me a call. my number is in my profile.
I hope someone is taking pictures for those of us too far away to participate!
Yeh ! Dick would chime in that we should plan accordingly and go to the meets. He chastised me for asking that question. Some of these are just way too far to go to.
Well, we can't hit them All, or that's all we would be doing! LOL
I was there for unloading day Wednesday. Going back tomorrow will take some pictures.
I went last year and personal handicap scooters were allowed. My batteries played out and all the rent scooters were gone The rental guy said he brought 275.
Does anyone know the vendor that had the Texas Electric and red indian signs?
