It's only 50 days until Fred's bash in sunny Santa Rosa, Ca. I know lots of the west coast oldgasser's make it there. It's a nice way to get in a few more warm, sunny days before dark, rainy, windy fall days set in. NO admission fee, free parking, food on site, motels close by, refreshments in Ted's space . Not to mention LOTS of great stuff to buy & see!!! T-way & the keeper made it out here in June so no excuses about it being too far to travel!!
Posted By: Dwaine Buck Re: Fred's Fall Bash - Thu Aug 25 2005 12:38 PM
Tom , are the Marble Heads coming? I haven't heard from them in a while.
Randy? Gary? Marble Heads you just got to love them.

the question is: will there be any marble signs there?
Posted By: Signal Gas & Oil Re: Fred's Fall Bash - Thu Aug 25 2005 01:58 PM
Well well well look what a Fred gas bash brings out. Two old dudes that don't say squat for 2 years and now they talk. Good to see you two guys talking. That's right Gary I never made it down this summer but I've been busy.
Going to be at Fred's with the same piece of real estate on his 8 acres. Should be fun again. WHO else is coming??????????
The only marble signs will be the ones I buy before the marble heads get there. Ted

Randy, don't bring the silicon this time. It was too much trouble cleaning it off the rental car.

Three important questions:

Will the Lodi Corner be set up again?

How much wine (Red, not in a box) will you be bringing?

Will Pam be cooking dinner again?
Posted By: Tom Stover Re: Fred's Fall Bash - Fri Aug 26 2005 03:33 AM
1) Yes!!!
2) ALOT!!!
3) YES!!!
Any more questions!?!?!
No silicone!!!!!!!!!!! Don't tell the men folk that, no one will show up!!!! LOL!! Marbleheads will be there I would think!!

Hubba- I need to sleep before I drive it this time. I have the new chevy, more fun to drive the diesel
I have a bunch of old road signs I want to bring down and sell for huge money. I heard there is a guy down there that likes them and always pays more than they are worth.
LOL... sign guys are silly

I would suggest Duct tape instead of the Silicone this time. We could make a lot of stuff out of duct tape and still use it for pranks (taping the porta pottie shut, taping the wine bottle to the table, etc.)

Good answers to those important questions BTW. Especially the dinner question. Now I'm going to have to seriously consider driving all that long way up there again.

We need to hear from Randy.......must still be mad about the rental car Ted.

Bring some pumps with ya Gary, I love seeing UNRESTORED pumps that someone sunk piles of cash into, lol, lol, lol!
Here is my tokheim 39... need $1800 out of this one, lol, lol, lol!
You guys kill me... It is good to be around people who can take as much **** as they can dish out. I hope I can swing some extra time to drive down there, it is too much fun!
I was thinking about hauling down most/all of my pumps, but I promised to give Beaver first shot at them.
Gary, maybe after Randy saw you spread out, buck-naked on the bed that made him want to move, and start lurking? Randy... you OK? I know it was ugly but it won't happen again! We will keep Nancy's clothes on.

Marble Mary... send me a list of the pumps you are bringing and how much $.
I wasn't going to make it this year BUT if there is a pump lot to buy, maybe I'll make it?
I almost bought a motor home the other day. It was going to be an investment thing. My brother sold his to a guy for $10k, then the guy got cold feet the next day and wanted to sell it back to him for $8k. I offered him $7k and he said yes. (then my wife got mad at me!) I knew I should have been gay like the marble boys!
Anyway, I wanted to buy it and drive it down, trash it and then sell it when I got back to WA. (sell it with the stink of old gas still in it!)
Oh well...

Tom, Wow, hula skirts? I havent been to Freds or any other Bash in a while, have they changed? I will be there this time with a buddy, hopefully doing more selling than buying, I will be bringing a lot of stuff if I can get it packed up in time (havent started yet), signs, cans, smalls, maybe some paper, who knows Ive got the screw gun out and its in reverse. Hope everyone is in a buying mood. It will be nice to see everyone again. Later, Dean

Dean, glad you can make it. A few things have changed (mainly prices!!!) Bring LOTS of stuff (you can't sell it if you don't bring it!) Do you want to set up under the big oak? Are you blasting down in the '55? See you there!

Tom, shade is a good thing(is it the tree with the bee hive?). How have prices changed? Are they up or down? How are signs doing? Cans, pumps, badges/buttons, paper, smalls, etc. I need some help here, I will have high prices but I do want stuff to sell, any help appreciated, Dean

Just found a large stash of Marble signs in the back room of Mendenhall's place. Seems that Jack was hoarding these things before he passed away. Going to have a garage sale there on the weekend of Fred's to sell off this junk so I am staying home.

Is $25.00 bucks each okay for AutoClub Marble signs? Just need some advice.

Dean, just bring the stuff down there. If the price seems too high, you can always drop it a little; kinda tough to raise the price. Oh yeah, it's the tree with the beehive, although I think they've moved on. Fred was hitting them pretty hard on rent!!!! See you in a few days!!

Poor Man I think 25.00 is a little high for some of those Auto club marble signs. I know up here I see a lot of those old marble signs with the cat eyes that look like marbles for 10.00 a sign at garage sales.
Good luck at the sale
Don

Everything is looking great for the bash. Field is in great shape, lots of vendors signed up, stocking up on ice & bullets for the Lodi corner, Marble Heads will be in full force, Mike Slama is bringing some killer globes, sunny & 80's, it all adds up to a great time.

Well it's getting close now. Heading out Thursday afternoon. Should be more people than the turnout at Carlisle and Hershey. Can't have a little gas price hike keep the west coast guys down.
See ya there. Ted

Sorry Hubba can't make it, but we're bringing Tom Gehrin. Them long legs would look good in a hula skirt. Lots of excitement if he lights it on fire with his cigarette. He's bring lots of smalls, having a blowout sale. See ya Wed. night. David & Marilee

Was there a neutron bomb at Fred's or something? I'd figure we'd have heard something from someone by now...
I guess I'm just overly anxious...
