This Socony flat gallon oil can is a transition piece that includes the Magnolia Petroleum Company name and magnolia blossom logos. There were several other versions, including one with the General Petroleum logo. This can dates from the period 1925 – 1932. As you can see it’s in excellent condition, with good color and just a few minor imperfections here and there. A very hard can to find in any condition. $1,700 including shipping, or best offer. Just a note here. The colors on these photos didn't turn out very good. The light background color on the can is a lot lighter...more of an off-white or very light cream color. And the graphics that look to be black (eg. SOCONY)are actually a dark blue. I tried several times but this was the best I could do.
