I purchased 1/2 of a Wayne 66 a few years ago off one of the facebook groups. Somebody had put hips on it, but you could tell what it was because of the base and the reset crank. For the past few years I have been searching for the other half. Not an easy thing to find.
Last night as I was closing up the shop, I looked on Craigslist for pumps. I noticed a Wayne 60 listed about 3 hours from me. Upon a closer look, I noticed that it was the other half to my 66. I quickly called and headed out to get it. It was snowing hard and once we got there I locked my keys in the truck! After about 30 minutes or so of breaking into my truck, we loaded it up and headed back home. It was a long night, but well worth it!
Here is the pump all together, I still need to put a calculator in it.
Wow, talk about getting lucky!
Congarts think the locking the keys up was from excitement?
Nice find! I'd buy a lottery ticket while your luck is running hot!
Wow!!! That is so cool. I bet that made more than just your day. I can see this going in "Buys Of The Year".
WOW!! That is superb! Great find!
Congratulations. Great find!
A great find and story. I think a lot of us can relate to locking the keys in our vehicle while our mind is clearly focused on something else. It is always nice to see someone able to save a pump. Good job!!
Thanks guys, I was and still am pretty excited. I was not sure I would ever find the other half to my pump. Funny thing about locking my keys in my truck is that I have a really nice lock out kit under my back seat. I also have a spare key hidden on the truck, but I used it the other day at the cabin as I was too lazy to walk inside to get my keys. I forgot to put the key back where it belonged, it was sitting on my center console.
Sweet Ryan!! How amazing it is to see it together again!!
Too Cool!! Congrats and Thanx for sharing!
Wow! That’s some great luck, I’m glad you’ve got them reunited.
Great story! Thrilled for your find!
That is very cool congratulations!
Amazing! Great story! I love the part about the keys! LOL
Hi Ryan, congratulations of finding the other half!!! I think the 66 is a very cool pump.
I am just about getting mine finished up. With the guts, heavy, heavy pump!!

Very nice restoration there, love the insides.
Love it Eric! Looks great since you showed me pictures last.
...very nice! Just easy-to-find parts now!
...I'm guessing the individual 'halves' are actually identical, just rotate one 180 degrees to assemble them? Are there ID plates on each half?
Just one tag. The reset handle and vent are on the front versus normally on the side.
Neither of my halves have the original ID tag.
Ryan,
That is a great story and an excellent pump. I can imagine your thoughts as you first scrolled down the Craigslist ad for the first time and realized it was for a 66. Especially since you needed it. That is a great feeling. Then I know the next feeling... 'man I got get that thing in my truck before someone else does'... lol. Good grab. Congratulations.

I showed the pump to my wife the other night. She though it was neat, so I told her how good it was going to look in the living room (as it sits). She said if I went and picked up the new couch I could move the pump in tonight, LOL
beautiful resto.. well done
Great story! I have always had a soft spot for 66's, Glad you found your other half!

What a great find, Ryan. Being able to recognize what you need put you in a great position. Glad it was close enough to you to make it happen without too much hassle, except for those keys.
Eric, that 66 looks outstanding. Sweet looking inside and out.
