Hello everyone!

I am gonna switch it up a little bit this month! The pump of the month for April 2019 is any and all Stationlighter pumps!! Any make and model as long as it has a stationlighter. Or even if it had a stationlighter and is missing the unit. I hope to get good participation from this month!

Enjoy everyone!

I have 5 station lighters on pumps and two not on pumps that I will post pictures of. Here is the first and it was my first station lighter. My wife loves it. She decided she likes station lighters and was not happy when I sold a Bennett 646 station lighter I had. This one is on a timer so it is lit if we come home in the dark we can see when we walk in.

Also include any stationlighters that you have just laying around even if you don't have a pump for it yet!

Here is number two. This is the second station lighter I got for my collection. I did a rustoration on it. It is hooked to the back door porch light.

Here's a stationlighter I have.

Not sure if it goes to a specific pump - or if it is just a generic lighter.

That being said, I'm showing a photo of the base of the unit next to an American 900 pump top. The contours match perfectly.

Later . . .

Here is number three. After I bought this Wayne station lighter I did not know what to do with it. I carried it out to the side yard and looked at this short Gilbarco and thought it might look good on it. After drilling some holes it went right in place. The white was a little boring to me so it got switched to red.

This is number four. My wife wanted a station lighter out front so I bought this one. Originally it was supposed to go at the front of the walkway but it did not look right. It ended up by the front door. It has a timer on it so it turns on when it gets dark. The first picture is where it was going to go. It crowded the entry walk area and the roof line took away from the visual height of the lighter attachment.

Here is the last one, number five. It is a Bennett 373. This pump did not originally have a station lighter, I added it. The base of the station lighter is the same shape as the base on the pump. In the picture one of my loose station lighters can be seen. It is a Revere. It fits on pumps with a 6 inch globe holder. It is sitting on a M&S 70 top.

This is part of a Wayne "banjo" station lighter. The "banjo" 585 is the one that a globe can go in. I bought it with the idea of putting it on a reproduction to complete it. It will not be completely original but usable.

These station lighters were DB`S. Some of you here do not know who he was. Dick Bennett was one of the early members with a wealth of knowledge. He would share his knowledge and post pictures daily. He was and still is the top poster on the site. If he was still with us he would be posting these pictures, so I will do it for him.

I don't have any stationlighter pumps but would love to own one someday. Several years ago i was restoring an Erie 748 and wanted to find a Pylon-Lite for it. I was at the It's a Gas show in Columbia that year and ran across what I thought at first glance was the Erie lite I needed so I snatched it up. When I got it home and examined it closer and tried to set it on the pump it was nowhere close to the same base as the Erie light I was looking for. I posted it on here back then and DB had me send him a bunch of pictures and measurements to try and figure out what it was for. He could never figure it out and nobody else ever did either. He wanted to buy it from me and I would have probably sold it to him if we had been closer together to do a swap or something but I ended up keeping it and still plan to paint it up nice and display it somewhere around here. I think it might be a light that was used to mount on a retaining wall at a station or something of that nature because it doesn't fit any pump that I can find. It appears to be a Revere bonnet and finial but the rest is a mystery. Anybody have any ideas now?.....Gb

This is an all original early Tokheim 39 stationliter clockface pump that is 💯 percent complete and heavy. This pump has everything going for it to be the best 39 I ever hope to own! Found laying on a Mattress in the middle of a scrapper yard somewhere in Kansas! It features the early cast base, the four window advertising glass openings, aluminum faces , and the light tower.

This was found on my way to Iowa Gas one year.

Wayne 70 station lighter standard and vapor proof. Sometimes called explosion proof. On the west coast the vapor proof were required. The vapor proof has screw on jars (or fish bowl on station lighters) that go over the light bulbs. Wayne and Tokheim are the only ones (that I have seen) that have vapor proof station lighters. All pumps had available vapor poof lighting inside the pumps, at least during the time period that they were required on the west coast.

Here is Tokheim`s vapor proof station lighters from a Tokheim shop manual. The 36B version has a completely different harp and bonnet than the standard model. The 39 looks the same with the addition of the "fish bowl".
