Well the pump is more or less completely apart and the sheet metal is all at the blasters.
Got the all repop globe ready to go!! Thing is almost to pretty to put outside. Got a great deal on the lenses for only $100 for the pair. So if they fall victim to a kids rock I'm not out to much.
I love this color I had made up at an auto paint supplier. Just the perfect amount of mustard to it for an older style look. I'm not a fan of Sunoco resto's were the color is to canary looking.

BTW, I can't believe how heavy the main skins are!! They must weight 30-35 lbs.
Also, need to get that big dent out. I just want to get it as best I can. Don't want to use filler. But don't want it to look like a golf ball either. Going to buy a body hammer set and give it a go!! Should be noisy as hell!!! Things are thick!!! I turned it over and pounded on it with my foot and it didn't even budge!!! Any suggestions??

Also have T-way graphics making me a period correct decal. Still little work to do on it.

If you’re looking to just get it pretty good flip it over on a flat concrete floor and hit it with a dead blow hammer...metal has a memory and it’s amazing how it will go back in shape with not a lot of effort. If you want it perfect, go the hammer and dolly route but may want to try this first. Good luck!

Do not hammer it right in the center. Start hammering toward the outside of the dent and work your way to the center. Repairing dents- - last in first out. That dent started in the center and kept going in, so the outer edge was the last part going in.

Keep in mind that when the dent happened, the metal stretched. That means that even if you get it all the way out, you'll probably have a high spot that will "oil can" on you (pop in and out by pushing on it). You would have to "shrink" the metal using a torch to correct this. Look it up on YouTube. I had to do this on my Wayne 60 hips where they were dented. It freaks you out the first time you do it - you think you're going to ruin the skin. But it works! I've got the metal back to about 95% straight on the Wayne and no oil can effect.

My Wayne 515 had a dent like yours. As Brian said take a torch and heat it to glowing red . I keep a bucket full of Ice and water near by with and old rag in it. I toss the cold wet rag on the metal to cool it fast. Might have to do this numerous times. All of a sudden you might hear a pop and the dent will pretty much be smooth. Ben doing this for years while working on old cars with dents such as yours. Good luck with your project.

That color on your globe body looks spot on.

Yeah, it was an original NOS frame right out of the box that I have that I had the paint made from.

I wish the repop had the darker blue.
The Sunoco blue was very dark back in those days! The pump will be this darker color.
