Hello I have a glass cylinder vase which I need advise on how to cut off the bottom. I already failed using a jig and diamond circular saw blade. Somebody advised a hot wire which seems like a bad idea. I live between Charlotte and Atlanta. Either a good way or someone that can do it for me would be a great help. thanks, Bob

Bob,
I have my glass cylinders cut-down by a local scietific glass outfit...they make graduated cylinders, etc. for use in scientific applications. They do a GREAT job. Might want to hit the yellow pages for one in your neck of the wood. Good luck.

I don't know if this will help or not, but here is a process I came up with to cut down a cylinder I broke. Good Luck
