Nice Polly pump Morgan. I can definitely see some talent and high quality craftsmanship in that restoration.

Great 870s guys!! I like your pump of the month idea. I think we should pick a more common pump sometime and we might get even more responses. This is fun!!! Gas pump Rob

Brian Harris sends in this image of a sweet Pennzoil Tokheim 870

Thanks for the kind words folks.

Funny the Tokheim logo decal doesn't show up in the one photo. All the decals On the Polly pump are water transfer under a couple of clear coats. The pin stripe is paint, not tape. Two clear coats really made it smooth. Can't feel the lines at all. The Phillips pump has painted stripes but at the time, water transfer decals were not available so had to use vinyl.

I'm probably most proud of that Polly pump paint job than most of the others I've done. However, I do think there is a SeaSide pump in my future so that could change.

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks, Dwaine, for the complement.

The pump is actually my business partners. He's only casually into petro stuff, but I think did an outstanding job with this 870A.

So far, the only 870A (designating the beltway/ledge) posted so far. Recreating four skins rather than two was abit more involved but worth it IMHO.

Brian

PS: Thanks, Jim, for hosting the picture.

OK Guys, enough is enough. I'm getting so jealous I may kick my dog. LOL I don't see any pumps restored in Pennzoil and I really like it. Super jobs by everyone here. Lots of talent out there.

Hi guys , I want to thank the ones that sent in pictures to pump of the month, and its not to late to post more , even though this was kinda my idea, i do not have a lot of knowledge of pumps . just the ones i have , so we needed some one who has knowledge and has built most of them as a overseer of pump of the month , so Larry Ivy will be the overseer, later maybe we could start a globe of the month , then company of the month , who knows , wright now this site is haveing trouble doing quart cans , but some of us are trying ,

For February, we are going to have a more common pump for the pump of the month. Also pictures are not limited to restored pumps. There are a lot of ideas to be had looking at those decent unrestored jewels you have sitting around as far as brand, decals, signs, colors, or........Also we ask that you provide some details on your restoration/and or where you found it.(I usually have my striper make a notation inside an access door or somewhere as to the town and state.)

It will definitely be a pump almost everyone has or has owned.
