looks like a lot of chipping And scraping but the finished result looks well worth it- nice job..
Wow!!! That looks Great!!! Nice job Matt.
Beautiful job on that save Matt. Looks killer!
Love the old looking pumps!
That turned out awesome...How long did it take you from start to finish?
Looks great Matt! Love dat shell!
Wow! What a difference! Great job Matt……….
Great Job! Those are all very nice. I really like the way the Shell pump turned out. Is that Shell decal a reproduction by the way? If so I would like to know where to get one.
Very nice!
That's how you restore a pump.
WOW that is nice and the value of that pump just went up!
That pump looks amazing Matt, nice job.
Matt, people like you are what make this hobby so much fun!!Excellent job!! Thanks for keeping it original. Anthony
Thanks for the complements. It was fun doing. I did not have to worry about it being nice like a restored pump and still came out looking good.
I am not sure how long it took. Scraping, degreaseing, removing and installing the sheet metal, painting the ground area, making the lights work and installing the decals must have been ten hours.
The decals are new. They are water transfer and can be bought from Mike Slama or Vic`s
Nice cleanup and what a great color! Why anyone would want to overpaint that is beyond my comprehension...
Great Resto!
How were you able to keep from taking the first layer of paint off?
Hey POL, it was mostly luck. I kept an eye on it when I had the agressive degreaser on it. On one side the original paint did start to lift off.
