I have expanded my Lubester lid collection lately and I wanted to wait until I got them repainted before I posted any pictures! I have a girl here locally that is very talented with a paint brush, and she has done some lubester lids for me before with great results!
The Texaco lid came from ebay, and was pretty rusty when I got it. I love the restored look of these things, and the Texaco has enough different colors to really stand out!
The Socony was purchased from another Old Gasser and the simplicity of it really appealed to me. It was already in primer when I received it, so painting it was only natural!
I have had the Magnolene for several years and it was painted red with white letters when I got it, but it was so drab looking, that I had never displayed it. I used the background from a Magnolia sign for the coloration and after it was all done, I had her paint the Magnolia blossom on it freehand! It really turned out nice and make the lid very attractive!
