I would publicly like to thank Fred & Bev aka Gasman84470 for their wonderful donation of a Associated 15" ethyl lens to the West Jordan Historical Museum for our Early West Jordan gas station display. A few weeks ago Fred had purchased the lens from this page. I had contacted the seller before Fred but somehow my message was deleted instead of being sent. When Fred shared his find on Buys of the Week, I contacted him to see if that was the one I missed. It was. Fred was staying at his hone in St. George Utah and was going to be traveling back to Canada and I told him about the museum and display and he asked if they could come by on their way back home. To make a long story short, they came by and then donated the lens to the museum. I just want everyone here to know how much we appreciate this and what a wonderful people Fred and Bev are. Thanks you Fred and Bev. May good fortune always come your way. WJCurator

Way to go Fred! Paying it forward--you'll reap the rewards of this kind act at another time and place in your life and you'll remember back to that time! It always happens that way!
This world needs more selfless acts of contribution to society and its great to see when it happens!
Three "ATTA BOYS" for Fred!

Do you have a body for it?
Posted By: WJHcurator Re: Associated ethyl lens - Mon Nov 17 2014 02:10 AM
Hello, no we do not have a body for it at this time. We might look for just a one sided body since there is only one lens. Keeping our options open right now. We could use a full body and a frost lens also.
Thanks WJCurator

Fred and Bev are awesome people!!!

It was a small gesture out of respect for the work Bob has been doing for the WJH Museum with a limited budget. While there we reviewed his vision of the museum. Good luck in the future with it Bob. We will drop by again to see your new additions.
Kevin I have been struck by OGers willingness to help others, yourself included. It is the least one could do for a worthy project.

I can echo Dave's comment, Fred and Bev are awesome, they have been to Saskatoon a few times and we have visited and I too have been the benefactor of their kindness. I'll give another "atta boy".
Ken.

A great thing to do, Fred! Now, I have a better idea why db held you in such high esteem!

On a different note... Quite a few say that my place now looks like a Museum. So if you find the mate to the lens... Remember me.... grin wink crazy

Fred I'm sure you didnt do it for a bunch of "atta boy"s. But man that was big of you.
Posted By: Gasman84470 Re: Associated ethyl lens - Wed Nov 19 2014 01:10 AM
No I didn't and I was doing no more than others have done in the past for fellow OGers such as MM and KW of late but thanks for the kind comments.
I would also say that Bob thanked Veedol Al and Bob Richards for all the help he's had in making his projects move forward. They have helped and contributed to the museum.

I have a 15" metal body in red that I got from Kevin Frith. If this is what you need for the lens, PM your shipping address and I'll get it to you in the next couple of weeks.
