There have been threads on cans so I thought I would do something a little different. I noticed some cans have graphics on the lids. Some are embossed and some are just on the caps. Let`s see what you have.

Sorry if this is common, but some of my Home cans have these friendly little reminders on the bottom of the cans that would of course been visible while
You where dumping the quart in your car. I always thought it was clever.

A few I have. The little yellow tin is a NOS water pump packing for a Pontiac.

Here's a few Cities Service can lids, and the Crew-Levick is probably the oldest one. as it dates into the early 20's.
The Koolmotor lid is the top of an early quart can.

Heres an early Penn Union can top on a Farmers Union can, the top of a later Veltex quart, the embossed top of my Cities Service "AERO" quart, and the top of a small Texaco grease can.

This the top of a 10 gallon oil drum that came from Midwest Oil Co. When I got it, it had a bunch of green paint on it, I removed as much as I dared and then left it as it is now. I've never seen another one. Pretty cool graphics to put on the top of an oil drum!!

That is cool. I never seen a large can with graphics on the lid.

I believe that this can lid shows the first logo used by Union Oil. I met with Dick Bennett on a few occasions,
and he showed me some prior prototypes, but they were never used. I've never seen anything earlier than this.
I'm sure that this pre-dates the "Candy Cane" shield logo that is similar to Union Pacific.
