There was a nice one that a member got on here also. They are just one of a kind pump that the biggest problem is what color to do it in.

They may be like Wurlitzer 950jukeboxes were in the 90's . I saw a rough one go for 25g and then...boom....today you can't sell a restored one for 15g. Dave

People now pay more for unrestored than restored, do not know why. Take a restored one that the work has been mostly done and then do it the colors and extras that you like.

That only works if your ultimate plan is to restore it Craig. Some people (myself included) just aren’t in to the restored “look” anymore. To each their own of course, but if my plan was to restore one, I’d do exactly what you said...buy one that’s already been restored and update it. Makes the most sense.

I'm with petropumps, there are only so many good condition survivors. you can take a pump in any condition and turn it into a nicely restored pump... but it takes finding something special to get an original that is complete, straight, and displays well. ultimately, there is more demand for unrestored nice originals among the petro-collector hobby. but among the car collector world, thats a whole different story.

Ok, then put that unrestored pump in your home and see how well it works with the group there. I understand if it is going in garage or shop, but not in the house. But I see your point, because I have not restored my column and it just sits in the garage the way I got it. My favorite Picture, The owner, his dog, my son, and the pump in which we unhooked. My son will be 38 this year.

There must be something wrong with me, I have quite a few original pumps in my house. LOL I think that I only own one restored pump.
