His location says SP, United States...??
What is that supposed to mean?

The description doesn't even make sense. He says that it was in a warehouse with original working neon, then he says that all the neon was just recently replaced. And it's not even all there in the pics..>??

Definitely something fishy

Here is what the seller sent. Sounds like fiction to me:

Hi Greg,

I have to tell you that I also have other serious offers that I have to consider. The price I hope to obtain is 1900 Euros (around $2,250.00 US Dollars). The shipping and insurance costs are included in the total price. I have a special discount for shipping due to the several packages I ship every month. I could use it for this transaction aswell. The sign is here with me in Spain. My business is antiques. I have 2 antiques shops in the south of Spain: one in Sevilla, here, and the other in Valencia. I usually ship 3-4 large fragile antique furniture items every week together with many other smaller items. I have costumers in most countries from western Europe, U.S.A., Canada, South Africa, etc... I'm very experienced so don't worry about the shipping. The sign would suffer no damage durring shipping. I have never ever had any problems with my goods while shipping.
I will take care of the shipping process. The sign will be professionally packed, triple-boxed and shipped insured via Air Cargo.
If you agree with this price let me know a.s.a.p and I will be more than glad to start this transaction with you. I would even end the auction earlier if you agree with the price.
Look forward to hearing from you...

Kind regards,
Adam Sony Halcom

This sounds like the same story that came with the Husky Ethyl lens that was on eBay for a few days before it got pulled a couple of weeks ago. That "seller" also had the same two antique shops in Spain. The photos he was using were of a lens that had actually been sold on eBay.

Funny... what would that sign be doing in Spain, and why would the neon shop (in Spain I presume) be doing with the neon Packard sign... in Spain. My arse, in Spain.

Is it possible that Ebay could now or ever be just too damn big to police itself? It's startin to feel like the wild-wild-west.

I think Ebay has pulled it. It does not come up when you hit search. People like this should have a hand cut off for this ****

Hey somebody (not me) that has not already asked the seller about the OK Chevy sign should email the seller of this Shell sign. It would be rather comical to see if the response is the same.

I got the same canned response as posted above (EXACTLY THE SAME) when I asked about the dude's location.

The seller is getting more personable...

I asked one question, and got a carbon copy of the above reply.

But now... He emailed and asked if I was still interested.

I emailed and asked how the huge thing ended up in Spain...

He emailed and said:

Hi Wes,

I bought this sign from an old man 2 months ago. He is an american citizen and retired here in Spain. His wife is spanish.
I found this sign in his garrage. I asked him about the sign and he told me that he use to have a gas station back in the U.S.A. together with other business.
When he moved to Spain 9-10 years ago he brought his Cadillac with him. He still owns it and he is proud of it. He brought a few other signs and other stuff in the same cargo with the car.
I bough 3 other signs from him that I already sold...
If you are still interested to buy the sign please reply a.s.a.p. and I would be more than glad to complete this transaction with you...

Best regards,
Adam Sony Halcom

Wow... How can he live w/ himself fabricating all this junk?
