I've always enjoyed collecting Cities Service stuff and a lot of it is pretty neat stuff but I think I'm going to be watching from now on, in case I run into a set of these teeny little plastic gas pumps, cause they're evidently worth WAY MORE than I'd have ever imagined. I hope I find a set at the next farm sale! My luck, the price will have gone down by then!

That's actually a pretty decent price for those. I've seen them go for more. Some brands go for a LOT more !
Check out JJ's site some time...

I visited JJ'S web site and I was impressed! I had no idea that there were so many variations of the little plastic pumps. It still amazes me that they could bring so much! Of course, theres a lot of things in the gas & oil world that amaze me! Maybe thats why its so much fun!!--Thanks Scott!
John has a lot of $$$$ in his collection of shakers. Some of them bring some good money on ebay.
Ebay is funny... you can find these Cities Service shakers in the $35-$55 area a lot. Latley some have went through the roof! Some of the common ones, what i mean is ones you see for sale 6-8 times a year have been up in prices for some reason. With ebay like any auction, you will see a set of Skychief with Petrox shakers bring $125-$150 4 times in a row then next set bring $45 then next set back to $150, go figure right. LOL
Like any thing we collect rare hard to find sets demand big money. Condition isn't a big factor except on common ones.
Brad don't tell my wife... she doesn't need to that. LOL
Kevin,
You should be able to find a nice set for $50-$60 or so. Give them time! I had a few sets for sale early in the year.
Thanks John--I always watch all the Cities Service stuff to keep up on what it brings and I usually bid on the things that are of good quality but I really had no reason to believe those shakers were worth that much! I'll keep watching and I'm sure some will come along again. Just have to be patient!
Like the old saying " All good things come to those who wait"
