You guys seen this? I have never seen or heard of one before? How did Jack miss this if there are in fact a handful "known to exist"? 121000300506

Guy's please stop using Jacks books as the holy grail for Pumps. If he doesn't have it in his book, it's not the end of the world. Please put yourself in his shoes trying to find every pump in creation and put it in a book. I think Jack has done a heck of a job on every one of his books and even though he missed one thats rare should answer that question right there.
We have all learned alot from his books so "How did he miss this" is not what I would want to read after putting so much time into books that cover 99% of all that were made.
Just my opinion.

They are around. Wayne also made a Wayne 40a clockface that's kind of a neat different pump. I think Jack would be the first to admit that there are a lot of pumps that aren't in his book...would have been impossible to get them all.

Before Jack started the 1st book he advertised in both mags & at Shows for pictures of pumps [& even now is always asking for permission to use pictures]. He is always looking for pictures of pumps that he doesn't have Factory Info for.
After the 1st book was published, LOTS of collectors started posting pic's of their pump that wasn't in the book. The 2nd edition Included some of the pump that missed the 1st edition.
WE & Jack have NO IDEA what pumps were made, used & SCRAPED during WW2. Some small companies only made 1, 2, 3 pumps Before the depression hit & they went under along w/ 10 of Thousands of larger companies.
Even the 2nd edition doesn't have the Tok 36-Non Computing [Jack didn't have Co. Info or a pic].

Now think about this;
Tok. made Twins BEFORE & AFTER the 34. WHY did they Skip the 34, Tok. 1st Veeder-Root pump [Tok. 850 & 870 Twins, 36 & 36B Twins]?
Tok. had the 850, 870, 36, 36B & 39 Clock Face pumps, WHY did they SKIP the 34 Clock Face?

ALL pump companies using the VR had to pay a Royalty, even WAYNE & they were part owners of VR.
By using a Clock Face, pump companies could sell a pump for less to commercial & Non Retail sales customers.

I made a big mistake about a month ago, when I had one of these pumps in front of me and didn't know what it was and I let another Old Gasser buy it instead of me, and that waas a "GOOD" thing but after I found out what it was, he wouldn't sell it to me for double his money!
Well, I wasn't going to let this one get away, so I made sure I had the high bid and brought it home with me on my way back from Peotone! This pump is in excellent shape and the clock mechanism is free and the bell even rings!
I gutted it today and I'm going to clean it up and put all the original parts back on and leave it until I decide if I should restore it or not! I will take pictures of the internal clock and clock mount, so you will all be able to see how they did this pump. Its a pretty Kool piece, but then--I do love the 40's!! LOL
