To help end the confusion to Signal pump plates.
All plates exactly 12 inches
All backs black
Plates have been found with grommets but most without (don't know why)
All have white ring on outside edge
Both plates gas & diesel with stoplights have black version as well as black/red version
With the Argentina specials the only difference is rusty back
I have never seen a real one with a rusty back except if porcelain is chipped away
Below shows the real one first then two shots of the fake Ted

Also of note is the width of the white band around the sign. Narrower than the red band on the real one and wider (same width as red band) on the repro. The result is the mounting holes on the original are in the black part of the sign while on the repro they are in the red band.

I've seen band widths vary on the real ones. I owned two identical graphic pump plates at the same time and one was the wider version. I don't think Signal had just one maker and may have gone cheapest bid. You know how we build government and school buildings.
