You will have to decide for yourself about whether TreasureRay sells fake items. I can say that looking at his feedbacks for 2010 he has received over a dozen feedbacks for the sign in question and not all were positive.

Also, some signs that should be quite rare, seem to be sold by him every few weeks or so, almost like clockwork, again going by the the feedback that has been posted for him.

Me, I would never expect a sign sold by Ray to be original, but that is me. Others may read his feedbacks differently.

Thanks guys! Trying to build a collection of ORIGINAL AIR signs and eco stuff. Thought this was suspect.

These are just cast aluminum. I've seen numerous copies at the shows for sale.

If you notice - there is 'patina' on the back of this piece, but no 'witness marks' in the screw holes?!

I'd personally stay away.

If you want a repro - I'm sure I could pick you up one this weekend at the Peotone show.

Later . . .

Look on page 17 of my Air Meter Identification book.

There is a Air-Scale air meter on a pedestal, you will see this "sign."

Someone is reproducing the s... out of them.

Aluminum reproduction.

Hey Darrel, I see your still selling those fabulous AC Birdcages?? Item 290345072748 . Roadrelics has been selling his Mobil Station WAREHOUSE FIND...10+yrs now isnt it?? Describing them as "There are only a few left so get one now" of OLD AC birdcages(pictured with... BUT Mysteriously MISSING the Spark Plugs). VICSPLACE counted 19 sold on your first page of feedback..??
A few to me is 2 or 3...?? Big warehouse I guess!! Make sure you get every last penny from all the Gas/Oil Collectors ..priced at $975..I wouldnt want you to give anyone a bargain!! Only you can get $975 out of a $100 birdcage!!How much extra do you charge for the Sparkplugs to go with it?

I SEE MY TOPIC I MADE UNDER EBAY AUCTIONS About Road Relics Auctions WAS REMOVED..and the other Genl Discussion one I posted asking about it..the TOPIC WAS IMMEDIATELY LOCKED after KZ1000 commented!!PUBLIC FREEDOM OF SPEECH I GUESS??????

WHO IS THIS COG Character from Ohio with 7 posts..registered 2 mos ago?? Check his profile..no name or email addy...all comments on the Air sign?? Obvious disguised fake name and thread starter!!Absolutely Unbelievable!!
The Air signs are old MYSTERY COGMAN..red repainted as described.

And while your counting Vic, I suggest you look in your own backyard ..because your VICS66.com site sells and distributes more UNMARKED Made in Taiwan garbage Repop porcelain, neon and fantasy signs I have ever seen in my life!! Decals..homemade trash..you name it.. Unlicensed and unmarked ?? Here is his sign stock pic..tin porcelain and neon.. 100s of repop neon signs from Taiwan he sells. I lost count at over 250 different repop items.. There isnt enough webspace on Oldgas to post all your repops here..and I have better things to do than count feedback items!! I doubt he even owns an original anything..besides a scanner and printer to copy with.

Wow. My name is not important here -or- any other details. What is important is that I am fairly new to the gas/oil collectible world. I found this site to be pretty neat and the people seemed to be very knowledgable and forthright. I am learning alot. Thanks.

If you would please notice the careful wording of the above-mantioned auction. You will see that the 'seller' is VERY careful not to state that the item is actually old.

Furthermore - the seller states "I try my best to describe the condition, authenticity or age of an item, I do not guarantee it!"Legal mumbo-jumbe to keep the auction 'legal' from an e-Bay standpoint. And just enough to keep from being sued for Fraud.

You will also note that the seller does not describe the authenticity or age or the items in question at all. Again, to keep his A$$ out of court.

As I stated in a previous post - if anyone wants one of these, I can get you one at the spring Peotone show for about $20.00 to $25.00.
And it will be a guarenteed reproduction! LOL

I do believe I will add this fine gentleman to my 'Ignore Member' list so I don't have to see anymore of his rantings in the future.

Later . . .

Is there a problem with that? It is against the rules to attack other members? Can it be any more clear?
