Equally sad is the fact that these signs are being bought to be resold in the USA. Pretty soon it's going to be to the point that e-Bay is not going to be safe trading grounds for original signs.

These are pictures of the two signs noted above.

I have seen the same set at an antique show this year, I did not know they made them this size.

The "Delicious and Refreshing" logo on originals was heavier and not so tall.

As far as I know, these INDIA FAKES were never made in this size in 1933. The Small black print in the bottom yellow stripe is way too heavy compared to the originals!

here's another 1 for sale or has been sold, they were asking 1400 for this 1. I've seen this dealer showcased on television shows before. large supposedly reputable dealer here in the Northeast. these jokers low balled me on a bunch of signs I had last year for sale. your time in the hobby, or the amount of money you spend in the hobby does not equal knowledge.

this sign so common at the swap meets in the 60 inch version enough 8 foot version thaT there really is no excuse for making a mistake buying this sign. If you want to be a part of this hobby for the long haul?.....get out to the swapmeets and touch and feel these signs. It is so easy to see these phonies if you put the time and effort into it.

My doors are always open and I welcome new people into the hobby, I enjoy sharing my collection, knowledge, and my time with anyone sincere in hearing what ive got to say. Anyone who has a doubt about a sign, no matter where you are, speak up and ask the question!

if you are reading this post and are having a hard time seeing the differance between the 2 coca cola signs pictured and the real mccoy, then you are spending too much time behind the computer collecting and not enough time out visiting collections, swapmeets, fleamarkets, antique malls, fellow collectors ect. there is NO substitute for education than touching these signs and viewing them in person 1000 times!!! PERIOD there is no shame in only having a years time in the hobby!!! ask the questions and do the legwork before shelling out $1000 on a 50 cent sign. if everyone entering the hobby cherished their $$$ enough to know what they were buying.....these signs wouldnt have a target audience.

When these first showed up on ebay I was leery of them. They were going for 800 to 1000. Soon after I was handed one and it was offered to me for 500. My gut said it's not right and I handed it back. This was about two years ago. Years of looking, talking and feeling things payed off that time.
It goes both ways, I bought a 24 in. Coke button with the bottle that was dead mint at an auction one time. It was so perfect it scared the other bidders away. I got it for 65 bucks, a week earlier I had bid close to 400 on one with some damage and did not get it.

The coke repos are 18x24' the real ones as mentioned above are 5 - 8 ft. At least this makes it easier, the auto signs they are doing are 42" just like originals.....

These aren't curb signs as I stated in the title, I think I was a little tired when I posted this smile Either way they are definitely fake POS.
