That would look good restored setting in my new room. We'll have to see where it ends up, but I'm sure it will go pretty high. I may try to jump in for a while.....GB

He needs to end the auction then. There have been more bids and it's still up. Figured it wouldn't run the whole auction.....GB

yes, he does need to end it. the longer it goes the more its going to cost him. ending the auction early will still result in him being charged final value fees of 10% the price it is ended at.

so as of right now, he'll be getting a nice $225 charge on his ebay invoice this month... and im sure he doesnt have a clue that this will be coming.

I hope its not my fault for saying something? I just figured that if it was sold, it was OK to say so?

For those who missed the show today, here's a recap of the action.

Apparently, eBay seller south-dakota-antiques (865) accepted an offer to sell the pump outside of eBay according to above posts. Well, their eBay listing was still active and still receiving bids. It might have hit $4500 before south-dakota-antiques (865) realized or was notified that eBay still charges a 10% Final Value Fee of the highest bid even if listing is ended early. Well, all of a sudden every single bid placed on the pump was cancelled down to south-dakota-antiques (865) opening bid of $1500. That would have been the perfect time to end the listing (which I can only assume was south-dakota-antiques (865 ) plan of attack), BUT the bids kept coming in and the price was increasing rapidly. So, it appears that south-dakota-antiques (865) finally decided to give up, end the auction at the current bid, and pay the 10% Final Value Fee to eBay before it cost them any more.
