I just bought an eco 97 from ebay and to my surprise it arrived in fantastic condition (the lister had very blurry photos). It appears to have never been repainted (all original red powder coating, it has all the felt washers inside and out and it was pretty clean inside. It appears to be a newer model because it not only has a plastic knob on it but it also has a metal face (not porcelain) with the name BENNETT in large copy under the ECO Tireflator copy. I've never seen another face like it (they usually read John Wood Company under the tireflator copy). The bezel, scuff plate, etc. also cleaned up like new. Any ideas as to what year this might be? Sorry for the lousy photo but you can still see what I'm trying to explain.

I believe it was always indoors because it smells like a dusty indoor item (sounds weird but if you buy old stuff you know what I mean). The mechanism inside is all metal (no plastic) and the three air lines are all copper (not plastic either). I don't know if they ever used all tin faces from the factory so I guess that's my question.

Yes it is. The handle was damaged in shipping but I have a few plastic ones in the garage and it was missing the hose holder. I was hesitant on bidding because of the photos but I took a chance. It's really nice inside and out. It was also missing three out of the four rear cover screws but I had some of them as well.

I actually spoke too soon. Last night I discovered that nobody ever cleaned the strainer and they didn't use an air dryer so the inside was packed with calcium and rust. I ended up dismantling it and got it all cleaned up. I had a diaphragm in my tool box and I changed the strainer gasket as well. Everything works now and the tins were all painted this morning. I should have it done by the weekend, I'll post a couple of pics.

Thanks to all who've posted comments!

I finished the tireflator and I really can't tell if the face is porcelain coated or not. The copy on the face is definitely a little different than any I've ever owned.
