Sorry to post so many questions. I have looked but haven't found any signs like this to help me estimate the value. Anyone have an idea on it's value?

The OP didn't like the opinions he asked for so I removed my reply.

You guys are too hard core! LOL
There are people in this hobby that like those signs.
While they don't do much for me, I have seen signs like that at auction and they generally bring in the $300 range.
Hope that helps!

There is a difference of opinion in the hobby on lexan plastic signs. Guys who collect porcelain and pre-WWII signage have no use for plastic. Newer collectors and collectors with a wide range of interests are warming up to plastic.

I've seen that size Mobil for sale in the $500 range. Remove the ballast, the panels and the sign frame will come down pretty easy as most are thin metal or aluminium.

The naysayers and minimal valuists have yet to realize all the lexans they have passed up over the years are steadily climbing in value.

The reason is 2-fold.
1) Cheaper than porcelain and it light's up, no need to buy exterior lights (note that on the sign in question likely it had replaced a porcelain mobil on the same pole that required external lighting).

2) The younger people in the hobby have grown up seeing nothing but interior lighted signs rather than porcelain when they went for fill-ups.

I agree with Paul. You're seeing more and more lexan signs go for more than in the past. Maybe it is supply and demand that is limiting access to the better porcelain signs or that they are more relevant to the newer/younger collectors.

Very valid points. Me being a young collector,26, understand all stuff has a value. That being said I don't collect plastic/lexan but I agree with Kevin on value.
300-500 at a really good auction. A few years ago you would be lucky to get 60 a side.

Yes many plastic signs bring good money but this is not one of them. I would not waste my time taking it down for maybe $200. total for both sides.

I have the same face down back I will give to the first person that wants to stop and pick it up. First come first serve, I am not holding it.

Sorry about the arrogant comment. just wanting to get an idea of values on sum of this stuff. Dad was a mobil dealer from back in the early 60s thru the 80s and he died in march. I am not a collector. Always hated that place I finally left in the 90s, now I am lucky enough I get to go thru his stuff and see all the treasures he has accumulated, thanks for the info anyone
