I just recently acquired a Wayne model 70 (s/n 167087 BDL) Texaco Fire Chief pump. The pump was still working when I got it. I am thinking about trying to at least partially restore it and just use it for decoration in front of my shop. . One item I know I need is the piece that the hose connects to. This one has been modified to add a in line filter. I will also need a couple pieces of glass which I see is available. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I hope I posted this in the right section. Thanks

Whatever you do and you can do as you wish make sure you secure your pump. You said you might display it out front of your shop. We've seen a few reports of thefts of pumps even ones weighted down by the pump mechanism left inside like yours currently is. But it sure looks good as is and Matt Alvarez works hard to get pumps to look like that!

It looks like on the doors that open that there were some probably Texaco signs. I see what I think are the rivet holes. Is there somewhere I can find out what logos were on it? It looks like there may have been three of them. I think the first one was probably the one that says "contains lead", then some fire chief logos but I am just not sure. I think I want to fix the glass, clean up the bezels and faces, put the Texaco logos back on and bolt it to the concrete. I am thinking about taking the internals out of it. How old is this pump? Not sure what to do.

This is the fire chief pump plate you would want to find.
I believe the silver paint scheme texaco used was for sky chief.
Look on google you will find a lot of the info there

Thanks a lot this will help me. The silver paint you see is not a Texaco paint scheme but the previous owner having a paint brush and you some aluminum paint left over. thanks

Oilcanman87, you're right about the Texaco Sky Chief being silver.

Does anyone know what the paint code for the Texaco red color back then would have been?

for best result match it to the globe or pump plate you use. Here's the info you seek. http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=580858 there's a search bar at the top right of every page so you can type your questions there and get the answer. That's a good looking pump nice and strait, wish more of them around me where like that.
