Anyone have any info. on a sign like this it is 2 signs & has a can between the signs. Signs are porcelain it's about 4 ft. It's a very cool piece. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not.
Thanks, Jerry

Jerry, it originally came from an older gentleman that was a mobil station owner in SE IL. Someone must have bought it from that auction and consigned it to Frickers here is the original post: http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=620156

Same kind of sign, but not the one from the auction in SE, IL.
Thanks

Gotya, ...it does legitimize how the sign was used... since that gentleman removed it from his very own station.

If I'm not mistaken and my memory isn't playing too many tricks on me? Such signage was a top some "smaller Mobilgas" Stations... "Super Stations" usually had the much larger 7+ foot rotating neon Pegasus on their roofs.
"Here in Kelso/Longview area" there was a General Petroleum Station started in the late teens/early '20s; that was rebranded Mobilgas in the '30s. According to a "beat up photo" a neighbor of ours had; that I last saw in the '70s., (I've been hunting years for a copy of that photo) that little Station on South Pacific Way, had a similar small rotating Pegasus on top of it... According to the story, I was told (if I remember correctly) the sign only lasted for a few years in the '30s, as one of our Winter Storms sent it flying...
