I just purchased a 4' x 4' Shell double sided(meaning two signs back to back) neon sign with the original hanger. what was the color of the neon and did the neon extend out from the edge? if anyone has a picture of an original one that would be great.

Here is a picture of my old 50's one. Yes the neon went around the outside. Was either clear red or in our case we used the orange.
OF course getting a picture of the older one is now not going to be for it is in a crate and can't locate the disk for the picture.

What Craig said smile. Looks great!

The neon went outside the signs so it was visible from both sides. Its all one big, hard to handle tube - but sure looks good. Dont let your bender talk you into splitting it at the top; as ive seen it done, and it doesnt look the best. I have always done them in clear red but the orange looks nice too. Good luck, these die cut embossed Shells are gorgeous signs!
