Very nice!! Pretty cool!! But I have to pick on the owner of that Sunoco truck and set him straight.
Why go to all that effort without doing just a little research. The logo's on the Sunoco truck are completely wrong for the time period. Looks like they put the same one on the jugs also. The arrow isn't introduced until some time in the 1920's after the first service stations were constructed. And even then it was straight. It doesn't get angled until about 1957. It should have looked like these I've attached.
Thanks for sharing though for sure!!!! Still fun to see!!

people like to do their own spin on things. I know most of us don't live in a perfect world like some apparently do.I give the man alot of credit, for his hard work in bringing back an old Mack for others to enjoy. The truck was at a show were they charged $1 to view hundreds of trucks,it was not in a museum.Sorry i will not post any other pictures in the future.

Lighten up butter cup, I didn't mean it like that at all. I only said I was going to pick on him. Not castrate him. As someone who loves old stuff, I think it's awesome!! I'm just a stickler for historic accuracy. That's all.

ALSS72,
Please keep posting photos. I believe "Steve C." had no intention to criticize the owner. Steve is one of our "stand up" veteran members!
Thanks for the great photos again!

...I agree with Steve, in that it's a shame to go through all that blood, sweat and tears, only to result in an inauthentic paint scheme ...think about how many pumps you'd have to restore, to equal the amount of work in one truck...it's obvious that the guys who did the work spend untold hours on them... ...think about this: if they had posted here, asking for correct schemes, they would have gotten free advice from a Sunoco enthusiast, with historical photos... ...no need to bust his chops - I like to think this site is here to help collectors with their hobby, and educate about the history, right? Nothing wrong with Steve pointing out inaccuracies...

I enjoy seeing great old tankers like this unrestored, restored to be historically correct or finished to the owners imagination.
I have seen a bunch of survivor gas pumps with stickers, paint schemes or signs from a time long after when they were new.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

Both are cool trucks and can appreciate the time and effort put into them by their owners. Thank you for sharing.
The Gulf truck shows a seldom seen side of the oil companies. Most of the majors had construction equipment as well as the well published tankers. Used in oil field/pipeline construction. I have photos of "Ohio Oil" tractors pulling dozers in the 50's.
