I had an opportunity to buy a group of station letters yesterday but passed on them because of much needed restoration. I figured around $400 in cost for correct restoration and not simple rattle-can painting, on top of a price approaching $1000 for the unrestored letters.

Since they were aluminum and not porcelain I would have had to strip them and repaint every letter so wasn't too enthused with the idea at the particular price for which they were offered. Around 32 letters from 8" - 12" and a few more at 28".

In general, lately what have you seen non porcelain letter sets going for when spelling out the commonly seen phrases like lubrication, washing, and the branding names/phrases etc? Restored vs un-restored price on these aluminum types?
