Hey all,

Has been a while but I have finished the "restoration" of my Erie Farm Fueler 4007 pump. I have to thank Ron Scobie with Gaspump.com for helping me out on this one. He was the only one I could find that not only knew about the pump but had some parts to restore it. A great help. So, here are some pics of the finished product. Note, I did not bang out any of the dents and such, mostly creases in the metal, because I liked the "rough" look as it would probably be when used on the farm. I did repaint the top and base. Added new Dial and Hose. Basically just cleaned it up. Still left all of the "guts" inside so technically could be placed back into service. Since there are so few pics and information out there, hope this helps for any future restorations or information needed for this pump style.

Thanks. First restoration of a pump so pretty "pumped" about.

You know for a farm pump Erie maintained the art deco look for something that could've been plain Jane"d". Nice look.

I agree. Could have made this "ugly" but it is quite attractive when restored. And I love the size of it. Fits in my office and does not take up the whole wall. Thanks

Technically you left all the guts in the pump, but did you take apart the meter and drain all the old gas out of it? This is one of the main reasons we suggest you remove the "guts." To express a reason for leaving them in is that the pump could be put back in service is ridiculous. Chances are 1000-1 that this will ever see service.
Because of my website pertaining to gas pumps I receive at least 2 request for information on where the person wants to know where he can find gaskets, etc. for some pump made in the 30s, 40s or 50s. Sorry, they are not available.
I might add, because of EPA both local, state and federal is it almost impossible to get a permit to operate a gas pump

Look at it this way, we are restoring buggy whip's, the problem is there are no buggies out there.

Nice job. It looks really good. Ron is an irreplaceable (Is that a word?) asset to our hobby. There are lots of construction companies that have their own fuel tanks and I could see where this would be cool to fuel up with. I dont know if there would be a law against using it for private use?
