Just received handles Joe, they look great. It seems you went a long way to replicate the original look. What sort of look would you use on handles? Would you clear lacquer them, stain them or just leave them they way they are? Would be interested in everyones thoughts.

I am glad you like the handles. I used light oak stain and then dipped the entire handle in polyurethane 3 times to seal it. My Fry 5 gallon is outdoor pump so the wood handle needed a thick protective seal on it. An interior-maintained pump handle could probably use a hand-rubbed finish. In the USA, I have used a product called Formby's Tung Oil on oak. Joe

I prefer the "rustoration" look. Soak all metal parts in muratic acid to remove galvanizing and rinse to neutralize the acid. Dip the the wood handle in dark stain and repeat several times to get a dark oil soaked appearance. Paint the metal parts the same color as the metal handle. preassemble the handle unit and "wear" with 0000 steel wool. Allow the worn metal parts to rust and clear coat the entire piece with matte finish polyurethane spray. Experiment until you are satisfied with the end result. Have fun...Dave

Thank you for the compliments. My mission was accomplished.
If there is another brand of visible that used a wood handle, but no accurate reproduction is available, let me know and I will look into it. Joe

Hey Joe.. Jeremy Smith here. Newbie to the group and restoring 2 Fry17. If you have a few of these handles I'd like to purchase 2 or 3.
Thank you Sir.
