Hi gassers, Happy New Year to everyone.

Has anyone ever seen a 15" metal body Fry globe with metal inserts with the perforated words "Guarantee Measure" ??

Does anyone have such a globe in their collection? Would love to see a pic of one.

I had one for a number of years. Have since sold it. If I can find the picture of it I'll post it.

that would be great. I have never seen one but I know they exist. My friend had one but was long sold in the 80's at the Iowa Gas Show auction. Unfortunately, he had never taken a picture of it.

Hello,
Here are a couple of photos that I acquired years years ago from an Old Gasser(I think)when I was doing some research. I hope that they help. Dave

Thanks Dave, you seem to come to the rescue all the time. LOL
The letters don't seem perforated? Is this another variant of the same globe?

Hello,
They are perforated. The tin in punched out about 90%, but bent down left in place to reflect the light.Often the punched out pieces are painted a light color to give the appearance of a light. I have seen this used on other early signs.
"Rescue" ? LOL I would not go that far, but I will share whatever I have and whatever I know. People have helped me and I just try to help others. It is the way this thing works. lol Good luck.
Dave
PS I purchased a couple of repo lens several years ago if you are interested in seeing them I will locate and photograph. They make a neat globe if you make them appear weathered and worn.

Thanks Dave, I would be interested in seeing the repro lenses. I did not think they were made. I am sure my friend Jeff would be particularly interested, especially after selling his original globe many years ago.

Cheers

I just dug mine out and they say "Gasoline" instead of Guaranteed Measure. My error. Dave

Dave posted pictures of my globe that I posted years ago. The tin was punched in a teardrop shape. Only original I've ever seen myself.

I found the thread where you sent me those photos in 2011. Thanks again,
Dave
