Well it's 3 something in the morning here in Maryland. Moving over to the other side of the house, the sleet and ice pellets to loud to sleep to, even with a white noise machine on!

G'nite again. Will surface later in the morning God and Power company willing!

Update: 8:17 and electric still on (Woo Hoo). Up to check heat pumps, get on computer, and back to bed. Outside very strong winds and back to snow, drifts starting.

Good to hear you are OK and the electricity is still running Nicole. We had a beautiful clear sky last night and a slightly warmer than usual 32F out. Later today I'll be in the furthest western state for a week of whale watching.

I am glad to see you preparing for this. Sounds like you are pretty set. Most people would not. They either don't know or think the government will/should save them. We lost our home to flood in '07, and though we received some assistance, we were "on our own".

I'm so pleased I have not had to shovel around the heat pumps! The snow is so dry, it's just whirling around them, with just a few inches accumulating at their bases, while on the west side of the house, drifts are going up the sliding glass door. We probably will get about 20 inches total, though hard to tell with the drifting.

Sideways snow sure is purdy to look at when you are inside nice and warm. The snow is so dry the trees are bare which is good news for the electric, not so good for snowmen making, but it's too cold and windy to be outside today. Sunday is predicted to be beautiful and sunny with a high of 34.

Hope you all are having a great day!

33 degrees and sunny here guys. For once we didn't get the pounding snow storms. Looks like the weather forecasters were right for a strange winter. ALL you Oldgasers in the East stay in and safe. See NY City just put a ban for no vehicles on the road in one hr. Been through this stuff for many yrs in Northern Illinois, not fun.
