This is in an up coming auction near me. Twin Pines used to deliver milk to my house when I was a kid. Although the clown kind of gives me the creeps, this would be a cool nostalgia piece for me. This clock looks to good to be real. But I have no idea. I'm not interested if just a fantasy piece.
Any help from the clock experts appreciated.
This is the only picture I have unfortunately.

I have never seen this clock but I would not think anyone would bother to repo it. There would be such a small local market that I could not see that it would be profitable. But who knows. Just a thought.

Take a close look at the reverse side of the glass through the rear light bulb doors. Also, if the metal of the unit looks essentially unscathed and essentially new I'd be leery.

Double bubble clocks are much more rare than the standard style and were a deluxe option not often chosen that's why they tend to demand good prices today.

One of those sold in April at Showtime Auctions for $900 according to Liveauctioneers.

Ouch!!$900!! Wow, that's way outside my budget.
Thanks for the great info as always guys!!

FWIW, this is the rig that would come around when I was a kid.
BTW, how did they leave milk, cottage cheese... out in the milk shoot on a summer day? I don't get that.

You have to remember in the forties and fifties most women worked in the home so they just stepped outside and brought the milk in. That is the reason for the stories of the wives and the milkman. Mitch

We had a bread and milk man into the late 70's when he retired. He would come in the back door to deliver and chat for a bit.

Quite interesting that people forget about the galvanized cold boxes that turn up regularly. A bit of ice would be dropped in the box and the milk, yogurt, etc would be left by the milkman. Also recall back then you might get daily deliveries so might get milk by only the quart or half gallon.

I think the $900 estimate is right on the money. I have seen them sell on feebay for $500-1200. Did the auction happen yet? If so, how much did it bring??
