Dave, are you talking about this? The original "T" handle screw came from my Fry 5 gallon. The threaded stud looks new because it is. Somehow, while trying to make it work on my 10 gallon, I damaged the threads on the original stud; so I had to cut it off, drill it out, re-tap and insert an new threaded stud. Joe

When I was teaching in a vocational high school(back in the 80's), I had a student turn one for me. I'll take two or three also. Thanks, Dave

I will have a price to reproduce the "handle thumb screw" on Tuesday. That is the name given to the part on the Cut #117 repair order list. We can make our own handle thumb screw pin that goes through the hole in the handle thumb screw. Joe

I am just trying to learn more about these Fry Mae West pumps, so, was this used on all of the hand operated pumps (17,117, 177)?

I believe that it was used on that style and all those that used that same pump. The "screw is just a cylinder that loosely fits inside the hole on the pump handle and has a larger "cap" on the end with a hole drilled through it and a short piece of rod inserted through it and used as a handle. The other end is threaded and screws into the pump shaft. There is a groove which accepts the set screw in the bottom of the handle. This serves two purposes: 1. Prevents the screw from being separated from the handle 2. Allows the handle to be removed and replaced without striking with a hammer.

Based on my research and looking at the Cut #117 repair parts list, there were 2 types of pump handle attachment bolts for the Fry pumps. The models that had the removable handle used the hand thumb screw; shown in the picture above. The second type of pump handle was attached to the pump shaft with a 3/8" threaded stud and nut. This pump model had a spring-loaded locking mechanism called the "handle locking bar" mounted to the pump base. The handle locking bar passed through a slot in the pump handle, then a padlock could be placed through the hole in the handle locking bar. When you removed the lock, the spring retracted the locking bar so the pump handle would move freely. Joe

I can get the handle thumb screws fabricated for $25 + $6.82 shipping. If you are interested, let me know what size threaded stud you need. I am aware of 5/16-16 and 3/8-16. Joe
