Nelson...I would say that is the first repro Metro shield I have seen come up. Buyers beware from now on! Sloppy lettering, computer font on the "Texlite-Dallas", the lines on the horse are "off". Sad anymore! A couple months ago the fake Mobil restrooom signs appeared, now these have flooded Ebay. These will be next I surmise.
I would love to see some other opinions on this plate!

I would love to see some other opinions on this plate! ...I'd love to see the counterfeiters strung up by their thumbs 
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

On a side note folks I emailed the seller asking for the dimensions of the sign, which they conveniently never sent to me.  The listing said 12" Mobil sign which could be helpful in identifying it as a fake as well. Magnolia territory plates should measure 12.5" wide by 13" tall. Again, the details are what matter. Darin

Just saw this listing...checked completed items and there was another, so this makes 3 on the market so far. As mentioned, watch out for these folks, they'll be showing up all over!
Seller in Cincinnati like first sign in question so probably selling under multiple accounts, baseball bats and patches galore, as well as fake Metro plates! The guy that paid $740 for his sign really got nailed bad. Sad state of affairs for the future of this hobby.....
