Restoring a Tokheim 39, on one of the door panels there are 4 holes for a plack/sign of some type. Would like to try to make it back original colors. Took down to bare metal, the last colors were red and white. I am wondering what plackard would go with the four holes in the door. There is 8 1/2 inches between holes horizontal across the door and 10 1/2 vertically down the door. Pictures attached. If anyone can give me an idea on what sign this was, would appreciate it.

Looks like those holes are not symmetrical , the right two don't line up with the left ones. I don't know of a brand sign that was like that, but there might have been one. I would fill those holes and just put whatever brand you decide on there with either decals or by drilling the right pattern for the sign you choose. Tok 39's were used by a lot of companies. mine I restored to Atlantic Imperial and it has four bolts similar to yours that attaches the metal sign to the door but they are not offset like the holes in yours. They are 12" apart and 11" vertically. There were a number of companies that used red and white, in fact the majority did use red and they were often painted over many times. Just go with a brand you like as it will be hard to tell what it originally was with the info you have left to go on. Nice job so far on the frame and internals, looks nice.....GB

As mentioned above....always fill the holes giving a clean slate to do your thing. Never worry about finding just the perfect sign fit. Life is too short for a search like that. Paul www.severngaspumps,com

Those measurement match Pure Gasoline signs... Red and white was Pure Premium....Blue and white Pure Pep ...Gray and white Pure Diesel.

Evidently I need to get my glasses back. Don't know why, but the picture at first glance made those holes look offset to me. I see now that they arent. I even have several Pure plates and that is for sure the size on them. Like I said though, there are probably more brands that are that size too....GB

If the pump was up against a wall they might have put only one sign on it. If it was on an island, they would put signs on both sides.
