Hello all, I have a sky chief globe lens that has a lot of fading and would like to touch it up so it somewhat fills in the colors. What type of paint has anyone used to fill in faded areas and still let the light thru? Not looking to deceive the value, just want the lens to look complete. Thanks, Tom

You will ruin the value. Pick up another for $150 and use as a filler. Scott B.

Believe it or not, faded and damaged globe lenses have suddenly gotten popular, with the advent of "original patina" gas pumps! Collectors have been recently fighting over damaged globes that fit their definition of "the look" that they are trying to achieve! Scott is right about destruction of the value on the lens. If you mess with it, it really lowers any potential value the lens may have. If you want it perfect, then buy a perfect one and sell your unwanted lens. Your cost difference won't be much.
