Can anybody tell me what year this sign is? We can't find anything on it. We have seen the green ones. This is a 30",2 sided porcelain sign. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Speed Ethyl was introduced in November 1930. The sign dates from that introduction. These are extremely rare. I have been gathering photos for an eventual sign book, and the only examples I have been able to find are in old photos. Great piece.

According to Wayne Henderson and Scott Benjamin's Guide to Gasoline Logos, Hickock Oil (Toledo OH) marketed gasoline under the HI-SPEED brand name. Hickock operated HI-SPEED stations in Michigan and Ohio. After Pure completed the purchase of Hickock in 1951 the stations were rebranded as Pure.

Don, Since you live in Ohio you might check with any local historical societies to see if they might have pictures of old service stations to try to find a picture of your sign that way. You could also check with the library to see if any books exist pertaining to local history. Best of luck in your search!
