Looking for a good/clean 13.5" original Skelly single lens to complete my globe pictured below. IF you have one, shoot me a PM. Thx!

Greg,
That looks like one of the Skelly lenses that doesn't have any white on it.
They were specifically made to go on glass bodies.

Jim, are you saying they made a lens that was clear with this logo only for glass bodies? I've never heard that, or seen one. All I've ever seen are fired white backgrounds with the logo. I didn't think this globe was ever originally on capco......Gary

Jim Jim, The lense has a fired white background. I bought it several yrs ago from Scott at GasGlobes.com. At the time Scott indicated it was a fairly common globe. I have been looking for years to find a single. I have seen only a few of these for sale and when I have they have been complete globes. Someday, hopefully, I'll find a single lense.

Gary, Yes, I have personally seen lenses from Skelly that did not have any white background. They were made specifically for glass bodies. Jim

Learn something new every day. Like I said, I didn't think that lens ever originally came on anything but glass so it's a little weird they would have made two different inserts. Anyway, good luck finding a good single Greg. For this being supposedly a common globe it is the hardest one to find of all the later 13.5" ones. The reason I have two cracked ones is because I could never find a good complete one in three years of looking and ended up buying two globes with one good insert to make my complete good one..... GB

That's your best bet. Buy a complete globe, keep the nicest lens, and sell the remaining lens and body.
