That is a cut down 70 also, not a Wayne 100. Wayne 100's have a wide window, and sight glass in the face. Here is a pic of a 100

Johnny,

Listen to the experts. It IS a cut down 70. There is NO SUCH THING as a short 70. And it is DEFINATELY NOT a Wayne 100 (and neither is that Pure pump, it is also a cut down 70, the advertiser/auction house has it listed wrong).

I think it's a factory short Wayne 70. I have seen 2 others just like it and nothing was modified.

I find it interesting that more than one of these pumps has shown up with out their ID tags.

CGGAS is correct, a cut down 70. They were cut down by pump repair/aftermarket companies like Partee in Spencerville Indiana among others.

If you open the door and look several inches down from the very top you will see the horizontal weld line where they were shortened, all shortened ones that look like yours will have that weld there, only visible from the inside. I would like to know the weld process they used, almost looks like a robot weld but this was done back in the 1950's.

Tom.

Interesting topic. They cut a lot of Wayne 70s, certainly a disproportionate amount vs. other style pumps. I've seen several of these "short" 70s.

Like Tom says, they did a beautiful job welding the seams on the doors, can't even see the seams until u open the doors. I've also seen a lot of tokheim 39's cut down.... but cut 70's seem to be the most popular cut down pump by far.

How bout a pic of the back of the door? I'd tag should be on the side acess door.
