Most Tokheim & National pumps have the back piece on the opposite side
of the reset coupling, on the computer.
The two couplings on the right are for Tokheim pumps,
the one on the right fits almost anything else.

Can anyone tell me if the tall Tokheim 39 has the back part,
AND which is the correct reset coupling for the computer?

It has been a long time since I restored pumps
Thanks
Joe

The top one with the metal tab goes to the inter-lock side of the pump. The bottom left coupling goes to the crank-back side of the pump. When you turn the computer back to zero the tab side disengages the inter-lock mechanism. The inter-lock when working does no allow more than one sale without cranking back to zero's.

The right coupling allows you crank another coupling one way. And when you crank the other way it disengages and does not allow any engagement.

Yeah , I think the right is a later Tokheim 39 that has a spring loaded reset handle so it can't be turned backwards.

So the tall 39 does use the same lockout as shown above?
And will use the reset coupling on the left?

Correct?
I usually just put them back together as they come in but I am selling this one outright and it needs to be setup correctly for reset before boxing.
Thanks
Joe

Here are 2 versions of tall 39. Two pictures are the cast iron and two pictures are the stamped steel version of the computer brackets. Both are original untouched pumps and there is a difference on the crank handle side. Hope the pictures make it clear.

Tom.
