I don't know enough about Chevron pump plates to come to a solid conclusion but I thought that real versions of this plate are painted, not porcelain. The tobacco stained uniform color where the sign should be white has me suspicious. Measurements are 11 inches by 13 7/8ths inches. What do you think? Real or fake?

Thanks!

Thanks Randy. Yours is the real deal that I'm aware of. I've never seen porcelain versions of this sign.

Are you sure it is porcelain? It looks tin from the backside. It looks like it has been sprayed with varnish or shellac giving it the yellowish color.

I agree with Matt and also the back of the sign is correct for an original painted tin sign..... Jim

The seller claims he took them off the pumps at an old abandoned "up state" gas station recently. If that's the case, who would bother spraying them with varnish? If this was a real sign, what would it be worth in the shape that it's in?
