Ok I just got this pump today. Took 12 hours of driving through a snow storm, but finally made it home lol. This pump says Erie 129 B. According to what I can find on this site, those were all gulf pumps or not necessarily? I was wondering if this could be a Atlantic pump originally or somebody has changed it over the years?

It doesnt seem to show any other colors of paint underneath, is why I was wondering. Thanks for any input, I am new to collecting gas, and oil.

...these particular pumps weren't sold by Erie to other companies...sounds like the pump may have been 'reconditioned' (as opposed to merely repainted) prior to its use at an Atlantic station...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

My Erie parts manuals for the 129B doesn't mention that this is for a the Gulf Oil Company. The parts manual for the 129 does state that the manual is for the Gulf Oil Company.

The 129 Parts manual does show the pump to have an outside sight glass.

I spend 10 years writing a book and for some reason I missed this. It is not shown in my new book.

I have 9 different models of this type of computer pump and believe this design was made solely for the Gulf Oil Corporation. If you find a pump that is branded as Atlantic, or another refiner, it most like has been repurposed by its past owner. Attached is a picture of each pump and the only one that has been repainted is the one on the left. Pump manufacturers from left to right are as follows:

National C-38
G&B (Gilbarco) 101
Tokheim 876 with aluminum embossed face plates
Rapidayton 1420-VG
Eire 129 (external visi gauge
Erie 129 (internal sight glass)
Erie 129-12 ("winged" sight glass trim)
Bennett 378
Southwest 30

There are several minor difference between each pump with the location and size of window opening the most prominent. There may be other manufactures that I'm not aware of.
