Back in the early 1990’s my Dad was engineering an oil & gas job in in Quito Ecuador when he found this Air Station. Dad has since passed away so I don’t recall all the details of how he found it and what he paid for it but I know it was pennies on the dollar. When he got it home, he cleaned it up and restored it as you see it now (without the dirt, LOL)

I have seen hundreds of these things but I have never seen one with South American writing on the face like this. Anyone have any additional info to share on this unit? Obviously it was manufactured with the intention of being used in South America but I’d be curious to know how many were made like this.

They were all over Latin America, although it seems more so in Central American than South America. I brought one home from Chile one time, but have also spotted some in Argentina. I’ve also seen tons of them in Mexico, Guatemala and Puerto Rico. They all have had Spanish language faces on them but my memory isn’t good enough to tell you if the faces were all exactly the same though it seems to me they were.
