Hi All,
Working on my model 80 and have a question concerning the hose retractor.
My model 80 is one in which the hose comes out the bottom left hand corner of the hose panel and the retractor is at the top right.
Like this one:

I have removed the cable from the retractor and have it zip tied so it can not release the tension of the spring inside of it.
If i were to slowly let the tension off of the spring by letting it spin will it be damaged?
If no damage will I be able to just re-tension the spring by spinning it back when I put the pump back together?
If anybody has any experience with one of these I would greatly appreciate the knowledge.

Thank you,
djkson

You can unwind it & rewind it just like you say, no damage will occur
